Re-Inventing the Perfectly Pennsylvania Keystone Marker
Glen Campbell (Mahaffey – 8)
COORDINATES: 40.814625, -78.833506
COUNTY: Indiana
DISTANCE TO NEXT: Mahaffey - 8
EXPLANATION OF NAME: Named for Chas. Campbell (Interestingly, the other marker here states that is was named for "Charles Campbell Pioneer Landowner". One or the other of these is likely a replacement?
FOUNDED: 1889
MANUFACTURER: Carlisle Foundry Company (Note also that the marker at the other end of town that has slightly different text was also made by the other manufacturer - the Geiser Company of Waynesboro. This pretty much confirms that one or the other was a replacement.)
STATUS: Still there as of Nov. 2019. Leaning badly, but would be clobbered by the snow plow if it wasn't. Re: the photo above with singer Glen Campbell - to our knowldege he has no direct ancestral connection with the town.
