Carlisle – Washington Elms (2)

Willow St. Carlisle, PA These two “variant” markers commemorate the 1932 planting of Elm trees on the 200th anniversary of George Washington’s birth. Neither has a maker’s mark. Both are on standard “front mount” posts. Note “postscript” marker notes Elms were replaced by Zelkovia trees.

Willow Street at West Street Carlisle, PA These two markers are not “Keystones”, but the more round-topped type used to denote some Borough lines, etc.  Both are on cast posts of the type used for town markers.
